Luleå, Sweden – February 2026 – Flasheye, a provider of real-time 3D perception software, and Hedlunds, a leading supplier of log handling solutions, have entered into a strategic collaboration to introduce LiDAR-based 3D technology to the sawmill industry.
The collaboration combines Hedlunds’ extensive domain expertise in log handling and sawmill processes with Flasheye’s expertise in LiDAR technology and sensor-agnostic 3D perception, integrated for industrial environments. Together, the companies aim to enhance operational stability, increase availability, and improve efficiency across critical material flows – from log intake through downstream processing.
By leveraging LiDAR technology, the solution enables real-time detection of log position, shape, misalignments, double feeds, and material build-ups. The system transforms 3D sensor data into actionable operational insight, supporting more predictable and data-driven production environments.
