Challenges that have been around for decades but hard to solve
Allan first encountered the very same problems that Flasheye is solving back in the early 90s. Back then, Allan and his team of engineers were pioneers in the field, developing cutting-edge solutions to meet similar demands as today. The challenges are related to measurements, safety, and autonomy but the end purpose is to enhance operations with technology. They built those systems themselves, solving complex engineering problems that, while brilliantly innovative, were too expensive and too intricate to be commercially viable.
It wasn’t that we couldn’t solve the problem, we did, but the technology and market just weren’t ready for it yet.

At Flasheye, we’re always looking ahead, pushing the boundaries of 3D sensing technology to make our world safer and more autonomous. But sometimes, the most powerful insights come from looking back. Allan brings with him over 30 years of experience, including a remarkable connection to the challenges we’re tackling today.
Making good ideas to actually happen
Fast forward 30 years, and while flipping through a defense newspaper, Allan came across an article about Flasheye, a company enabling groundbreaking 3D sensing technology. Intrigued, he saw that Flasheye was working to solve the same challenges—this time with technology that has caught up to the vision. He reached out, and it didn’t take long before he joined our team as a Senior Lidar Sales Engineer, bringing invaluable experience and a deep understanding of the problems we’re now able to solve at scale.
With wisdom and a passion for innovation, Allan is now working alongside us, helping shape the next generation of 3D sensing technology. The world has changed, markets have evolved, and advancements in technology have paved the way for scalable, commercially viable solutions. What once seemed out of reach is now within grasp, and Allan’s expertise is helping Flasheye take these innovations to the next level.
The timing is finally right, and we’re more excited than ever to see how far we can go. Together, we’re making the world more autonomous, and ultimately better.
